The Trenton City Council approved the purchase of police vehicles and a pickup truck, extended fireworks sales through July 6 but continued to prohibit bottle rockets, and approved an audit services contract during its May 19th meeting. The council purchased two Dodge Durango Pursuit vehicles for the police department and a Ford F-150 pickup truck for water/wastewater services. Fireworks sales were extended, but bottle rockets remain prohibited within city limits. An audit services contract was approved with Conrad and Higgins, LLC for the fiscal year ending April 30th, 2026. Mayor Jackie Soptic thanked city departments for storm recovery efforts and warned residents to be cautious of individuals claiming to need property inspections.
