A Bethany couple in Harrison County, Missouri, is facing five counts of felony child neglect after authorities found them and their five children living in a camper without running water. Joshua John Thomas Barnes and Kathleen L. O’Leary were arrested following a report from school workers to the Missouri Children’s Division. The living conditions were described as unsanitary, with debris covering the floor and surfaces, and the children appearing dirty and unkempt. The family was also dealing with a lice infestation, and the camper had no water service despite being connected to a sewer line. Barnes and O’Leary are currently held on $25,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court.
