Missouri State Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer has entered the race for Platte County prosecutor, with the sole previous candidate dropping out. Luetkemeyer, in his second term as a state senator, aims to focus on law enforcement support and tough-on-crime policies if elected. His candidacy received an endorsement from outgoing prosecutor Eric Zahnd. With no Democrat currently filed for the position, Luetkemeyer is the only official candidate in the race.
