The St. Joseph Public Library will hold several programs throughout the summer to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America and years of American history.
The first of these programs will be held this evening at the East Hills Library, beginning at 5:30pm, featuring host author and speaker Dorinda Nicholson, whose family lived near the tip of the Pearl City Peninsula, only a few hundred yards from the USS Utah, the first ship to be attacked at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
Nicholson’s book Pearl Harbor Child: A Child’s View of Pearl Harbor from Attack to Peace gives a childhood perspective on the bombing and the war.
Other history events this summer can be viewed on the St. Joseph Public Library’s website.
