The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has closed two swimming beaches at Pomme de Terre Lake in Missouri due to dangerous levels of toxic blue-green algae. Nemo Beach and Wheatland Beach will remain closed until water conditions improve. Warning signs are posted, and visitors are advised to avoid water with visible algae. Pet owners are also cautioned to keep animals away from affected water. Despite the beach closures, campground facilities are safe, and boating and fishing are still allowed with precautions.
