The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium has welcomed three new river otter pups born to Ursula, the zoo’s 8-year-old North American river otter. The pups are currently bonding with their mother and will soon start swimming and eating fish. River otters use their facial whiskers to detect prey while hunting. The pups will be gradually introduced to water and will eventually be on display for visitors. All three pups are female and have opened their eyes and learned to crawl.
