United Way’s Success By 6 is offering free monthly information sessions for parents, grandparents, and child care professionals. The latest one is set for April 20th, from 6-7:30 PM at Wyatt Park Christian Church, 2623 Mitchell Avenue.

Presenters with United Way will discuss the concept of Conscious Discipline and cooperation achieved through relationship and connection, and shifting caregivers’ thinking to help children learn missing skills.

Bobbie Cronk, Director of Children’s Initiatives with United Way, said in a press release: “Conscious Discipline is based on the brain state model and helps us understand how to move children, and ourselves, out of stress into a state where self-control and learning can take place.”
