Drivers can expect continued impacts to daily commutes along Interstate 29 as work continues on the Gene Field Road Bridge in St. Joseph, Missouri. On Wednesday, March 11, southbound I-29 at the bridge will be narrowed to one lane from 6 a.m to 10 a.m. A 10.6-foot width restriction will be in place as Clarkson Construction Company and the Missouri Department of Transportation move equipment. The project aims to widen the bridge, replace its driving surface, and add pedestrian sidewalks to both sides, with completion scheduled for July 2026.
