Approximately 190 Nebraska Army National Guard soldiers are heading to Washington, D.C. to assist with America250 celebrations. The soldiers will be assigned to Joint Task Force D.C. and will be involved in monument security, entry control management, and patrols. Before departing, soldiers, family members, and state leaders gathered for a private event where Major Gen. Craig Strong emphasized the importance of professionalism and civility during the mission. Governor Jim Pillen expressed gratitude for the soldiers’ service and highlighted Nebraska’s contribution to protecting the capital city.
