The Kansas Court of Appeals has upheld the 6-year jail sentence of 51-year-old Jeremy Stover, a Hiawatha man convicted of multiple counts of sexual battery and buying sexual relations. Stover must serve two years in jail before being eligible for probation. The court referenced the State of Kansas’ argument that Stover deserved a lengthy sentence for his crimes against vulnerable women who sought employment or assistance from him. Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill represented the State in both the District Court prosecution and the appellate process.
