The St. Joseph School District Foundation’s Apple Seed Classroom Innovation Grants program provides funding for teachers to implement creative ideas in their classrooms. The grants, ranging from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, are funded by community donations. The foundation director, Julie Cobb, explains that the program aims to support innovative projects that can benefit a large number of students. Winners of the grants will be announced later this month after evaluation by community members and school district leadership. Previous grant projects have included robotics programming with calculators and researching historical signs and businesses in St. Joseph.
