The Kansas City Chiefs have secured land for a new stadium and practice facility in Kansas, with plans to move from Arrowhead Stadium to a new 65,000-seat stadium in Wyandotte County and develop a headquarters in Olathe. Kansas has agreed to issue up to $1.8 billion in sales tax revenue bonds for the stadium and $975 million for ancillary mixed uses. The Chiefs met a deadline to gain control of project sites to maintain exclusivity, with progress made on securing land for the facilities. The American Royal and Filios Cos. are among the entities with parcels in the stadium district, while Olathe’s practice facility district includes land owned by Ross and Lynn Meredith.
