Crowds gathered along the Northside Parade route Saturday morning on St. Joseph Avenue, with many participants in the parade honoring Lafayette High School before it’s transition to a middle school in May.

The Northside Neighborhood Watch Group, the group that organized the parade, is celebrating the participants who were only asked to make either a donation of food, or money, to Second Harvest Community Food Bank to join the parade route.

The organization reports that participants donated 875 pounds of food, and $1,000, all benefitting Second Harvest and it’s efforts in feeding the community and northwest Missouri, as well as northeast Kansas.
