The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services is alerting over 7,000 individuals about a potential data breach. A file containing Medicaid subscriber IDs and program details was mistakenly posted on the department’s website on February 16th. Fortunately, the file did not include personal names, addresses, or health information. The department promptly removed the file and is implementing additional training and reviewing procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future. For more information, visit the HHS website.
