Platte County’s DWI and Mental Health Courts were honored for their 15 and 10 years of service at a recent conference. These treatment courts aim to address mental health, addiction, and crime by providing intensive treatment, case management, and accountability. Participants undergo regular drug testing, meet with probation officers, and attend court sessions. Over 400 individuals have graduated from Platte County’s treatment court, and Judge Amy Ashelford received the Claire McCaskill Award for her leadership in Treatment Courts.
