On Tuesday, a Buchanan County jury found Dakota Slagle guilty as charged of two counts of Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree, victim less than 12 years of age.

Slagle was charged for events that occurred in a residence in St. Joseph between 2020 and 2022. The case was successfully tried by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Monica Morrey, assisted by Buchanan County paralegal Charity Johnston.

A final sentencing will be held on May 7, 2026.
