A judge in Cole County ruled that submitting signatures to force a referendum on a state law is not sufficient to suspend the law, allowing Missouri’s gerrymandered congressional map to remain in effect. The referendum petition from People Not Politicians could potentially put the law on hold until a November vote, but only after the signature verification process is finished.
