Beginning Monday, March 30, northbound traffic on Heartland Road will be restricted to emergency vehicles only between Faraon Street and the Mosaic Life Care Medical Center emergency room entrance.
The City of St. Joseph says the restriction is necessary to facilitate full-depth concrete replacement in damaged sections along the west side of the medical campus. While southbound repairs were completed during the winter, the current phase focuses exclusively on the northbound lane.
During the construction period, only ambulances, police, and fire vehicles traveling north from Faraon Street will be permitted to access the ER entrance via Heartland Road.
All other motorists seeking the emergency room must utilize alternative hospital entrances or approach the facility by traveling southbound on Heartland Road from Frederick Ave.
Once the initial phase of concrete replacement is finished, crews will transition to single-lane closures to complete the remaining repairs.
