Missouri Western State University is introducing changes to its graduate programs to help students complete their degrees faster. The university will now offer a seven-week course format with six different start dates throughout the year, allowing students to begin when it suits them best. Five programs will be available with the new calendar starting on March 9, all of which will be offered online. In-person field experiences or internships will be required for three of the programs. Additional start dates for 2026 are scheduled for May 11, June 29, Aug. 31, and Oct. 19, with a Master of Applied Science in Forensic Investigation program adopting the seven-week calendar in the fall. The Master of Social Work program will continue on a traditional semester schedule, with applications open until March 31 for a fall start.
