The Heritage Trust Fund (HTF) in Kansas has approved 13 projects statewide, totaling over $1 million in grant funding for the preservation of historic properties. Atchison County’s Memorial Hall will receive $63,600 for a new roof, with the project set to begin in the spring. The awards were announced on February 7th, with credit given to Maintenance Director Brian Oswalt and former Finance Director Mark Zeltner for their roles in securing the grant. The HTF process is highly competitive, with individual awards capped at $100,000 and requiring a local match under an 80/20 split. Workshops are offered by the Historical Society to provide guidance for applicants.
