ATCHISON COUNTY, Mo.—One person died in an accident just before 4a.m. Thursday in Atchison County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Toyota MR2 driven by a 44-year-old Union, Missouri, woman was northbound on Interstate 29 one mile north of Watson. The car began to skid. It crossed the center of the road, traveled off the west side of the northbound lanes, rolled into the southbound lanes and the driver was ejected.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Minter Funeral Home in Rock Port. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
